I discovered Pilates for post-natal recovery after the birth of my first baby in 2004. As the years went by I incorporated Pilates exercises to balance out quite a prescribed fitness routine. I noticed the more I trained and tried to progress, so had my aches and pains and from there grew my desire to take better care of my body. I began using Pilates much more regularly and quickly decided to train as a teacher.

My first certification was from Body Control Pilates in 2010 and then in 2016 I gained a comprehensive qualification with BASI Pilates, a school of movement I had always admired.

In 2018 I completed the Mentor Program and in 2022, the Master I level of the BASI Pilates Legacy program. I hope to complete the penultimate Master II in the next couple of years. Each step of the Legacy program is a deep dive into the intricacies of the Pilates method and has inspired and steered me on my career path. Before the pandemic I taught a very busy schedule running my own classes from hired spaces, teaching privately and in various clinical settings..

michelle holt

Having always been passionate about movement, Michelle discovered Pilates whilst living in Shanghai 10 years ago and working long days at a desk job. She found it to not only offer the well-documented physical benefit of 'stretching out' a hunched up body and complementing a very cardio-focused exercise routine, but a chance to pause and focus on mindful movement and self-awareness.

Michelle started her training with Body Arts and Science International (BASI) Pilates in Chicago in 2015. When she moved back to London in 2017, she returned to work in PR before having two daughters, moving to Sussex and finally deciding to jump back in to the world of Pilates.

She enjoys helping all clients - irrespective of their age or ability, improve their overall health and wellbeing while finding enjoyment in Pilates. Her approach is tailored to each individual, focusing on the precision required to make positive changes to their alignment, strength and mobility.

Tracey Simmonds

Tracey has been teaching exercise since 2008. She completed the BASI matwork certification in 2017, followed by the comprehensive equipment programme with Pilates Unlimited in Pretoria, South Africa. Initially drawn to Pilates as a useful form of cross-training to bolster skills in other pursuits it soon became apparent to Tracey that Pilates was much more than just a system of physical exercise.Tracey has an appreciation of the scientific elements of Pilates which unite her love of the creative side of Pilates, specifically the use relatable language and the conjuring of imagery to build an understanding of one's own body.
